"Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration" - Thomas Edison.
I believe this is true because without trying you won't achieve anything. My personal talent is playing guitar. I have had a huge passion for playing guitar ever since I found out my cousin was Ms. Wills’ second best. I feel like playing guitar because playing it runs in my family and I wasn’t so great at playing in the beginning, but I wanted to show that I could be one of the best and I did accomplish that goal. My life accomplishments are achieving a Excellent in the California Music of Education Association festival. I have also performed for many people around Lindsay. This accomplishment makes me proud because I became a very skilled guitarist at LHS, and it relates to the person I am because I don't like to be the worst at anything. If I can do it I will try to become one of the best.
The world I come from is a unique world of my own, I come from a middle class Hispanic family, with many difficulties passed behind us, and that is what helped shape my own unique world. The school I come from is Lindsay High School. It doesn’t have so many students, but it's a good environment for me and I soon wish to graduate from it. The community I come from is a small but helpful one: everyone in my community knows each other pretty well and likes to help people with hardships, since they have gone through quite a few. With the help of others, they have turned out OK and they want to return the favor to others. The world has shaped my dreams and aspirations by influencing me to do my best so I can succeed in life and become a family man. It has helped me become who I am because as a child I grew up without a father and had a mother who worked 24/7, so I hardly had time to see either parent. I was clearly on a path to failure but with the help of friends and other family members, I got the put on the correct path to success. The world wasn't the greatest for me but I didn't let it push me to the wrong path, since I had people that cared for me and I didn’t want to disappoint others with my failure. This world has shaped my dreams because at first I had no clue what I wanted to do after high school. When I came to my final year of school, I clearly knew what I wanted to do, thanks to the teachers; without their help, I would be lost and most likely not attend college. So this world has not been the greatest to me but i'm glad i had my own unique world because without it I would not be the person who I am and I wouldn't like to be any different than what I am.
